Joist count, marks along the rim, lumber lengths and hangers. (Sizing comes from span tables — not included.) Free, no sign-up.

Joists are laid out along the rim like studs: the first and last flush with the ends, the rest on centre. Marks are pulled back 3/4" so sheathing and deck-board joints land on joist centres.

This doesn't size joists — check the NBC span tables or a designer for the joist size, grade and spacing your span needs.
