Miter & Crown Angles

Saw settings for trim corners and crown moulding cut flat. Free, no sign-up.

Measure the corner with an angle finder — a square corner is 90°, a bay window corner is often 135°. Plain trim is cut with two equal miters.

Crown moulding laid flat on a compound miter saw needs both a miter and a bevel. The spring angle is printed on most crown profiles (52/38 crown has a 38° spring angle; 45/45 crown has 45°).
