New Brunswick enforces NBC 2020 Energy Performance Tier 2. Without an energy model, the prescriptive route (NBC Section 9.36.8.) gets there by combining upgrades that earn energy conservation points — 10 points reaches Tier 2.

This route requires an HRV. Points come from NBC Tables 9.36.8.5. to 9.36.8.11. for your location's climate zone, and walls and foundation walls must still meet that zone's base minimums (Tables 9.36.2.6.-B and 9.36.2.8.-B).

Enter the lowest-performing wall and foundation assembly in the house — the NBC uses the weakest one unless you trade areas off (Sentence 9.36.8.5.(7)).
